  • by

On May 20th, 2024, members of the CRISAFE consortium visited the pilot site in Zagreb, Croatia, to discuss key elements of the project’s implementation. The visit focused on selecting the dams to be analysed as part of the vulnerability assessment and determining the optimal locations for the installation of CRISAFE Early Warning System sensors.

Led by experts from Croatian Waters, the consortium members – UNIZAG GF, CW, and IPK – toured the complex system of 19 retention dams that protect Zagreb from flash floods originating from the Medvednica mountain. These dams play a critical role in safeguarding the city, and the visit marked an important step in enhancing their monitoring capabilities within the CRISAFE framework.
